Recent Work: Standing in Standing Rock in B&W

Standing Rock was full of nuance, paradox and layers. 

It was also, sometimes, pretty clearly black and white. Like the insatiable need for wood to keep feeding the cook and campfires. Native Americans, enviormentalists, hippies, protest tourists, activists and activist wannabes all clearly needed the fires to burn to provide the warmth, and food to sustain the movement. 

The camp is a juxtapositon of traditional and new. Teepees and trailers, horses and SUVs. It is a complicated mix.
