Fine Art: Ptown Wired

A couple of years ago I made several trips up to Provincetown on Cape Cod during the off season ( fall and winter) and at time when I was feeling particularly disconnected in my personal life. I found myself struck by the jungle of telephone and electrical wires that canopied Commercial Street and seemed, to me, to be desperately trying to keep this isolated little outpost on the tip of Cape Cod connected to the larger world. I began to photograph them. In my eyes they never lost their desperate sorrow and loneliness but I gained a sense of their graphic beauty against the sky that I hadn't seen before.
